The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D first thoughts

First impressions: This game is just... its pure gaming greatness. I have played this game every year of my life since its release, and this has somehow managed to make it feel fresh and new!

The controls work so well- I was skeptical about using the gyros to aim your slingshot/bow, but I haven't lost a target game yet. It is simply... excellent. The Skulltulla house looks especially awesome IMO, lots of new details and creepiness. The sofa!!!

Just became adult Link and got the hookshot. Not gonna get much work done tonight, my head will be in the Zelda-verse. :3

No you're making the wait too hard I will be able to try buying another 3DS after Thursday but this game isn't out til the 30th At least we are getting the soundtrack CD too and it is available until July 31st.

Man already that far bro.? I've just gotten started with the 2nd dungeon to beat giant dudongo.

@Nintendo Furniture: I have not been able to stop thinking about this game. It really has put me in a different state of mind, lol. I feel like I'm time traveling, but with MORE detail than you could hope for, ya know?!

Im really enjoying it myself. I just made it to adult link Last night. As previously mentioned I ve only played it once and I never completed it, so It feels like a new adventure for me. Graphic upgrades are welcomed, my only complaint is the controls. While mapped perfectly, my hands really start to hurt after holding that thing for a long period. And this gameplay doesnt equate to short gaming sessions

I agree. Sometimes the circle pad gets a bit much, it really gives less slack than the analog stick of the N64. I do, however, really enjoy the new placement of the ocarina buttons. To me, they make more sense this time around.

Master quest unlocked. Fantastic game from gerudo on it was new to me. Wonder if I'll go through the master quest or not.

I just beat the Forest Temple last night. I nearly went mad backtracking through the room that goes higher and higher and has a few blocks to push into place and at the top there's a door with an eye switch above it that changes the twisty corridor. I went back and forth through there so many times! After that I went back to the past to get Epona's Song because I forgot the first time around and went back to the future to get Epona. I must say the ocarina buttons now confuse me. I have been so used to the N64 style that using X and Y confuses the hell outta me. And after a few hours playing my hand gets cramped from using the circle pad so much But otherwise I'm enjoying myself so far. The cinematics around the time you open the Door of Time are just awesome.

I actually finally unlocked Master Quest today, too. I hadn't touched the game since Mercenaries was released... the kids were all gone today so I popped in OoT and finished it out.

I'll give it an 8 outta 10, I beat the game in 16 hours. >.<

I tried to go through it again on the GameCube disc about 4 years ago and this is the exact same spot I got stuck on.
