Sony PS3: it only does Wii-U

And that's pretty good, because you then have the processing power of PS3 doing that work, Vita [doing] fancy graphics - however you want to do it. You're not sacrificing the PS3's CPU to be able to have a rich experience on Vita."

Rogers said this was "a fairly new idea", and encouraged developers to talk to Sony if they have any ideas for it. "Most of the time we'll be OK with it," he said.

Yeah, but... its SONY. Don't care! lol Interesting that this didn't come out until AFTER the Wii U reveal.

That's because they clearly didn't think of it. And since it wasn't engineered that way, it won't work smoothly enough to show up often. Oh yeah, and most people won't even own a Vita(min?) so developers will simply say, "whatever, Sony."

Im not saying they arent copying Nintendo. Im just showing you that its going to be able to do the Wii - U's biggest selling point.

Only sort of- the Wii U tablet is bigger, and seems to have slightly more stuff packed in it. SONY's gyro integrations has been subpar at best.

I like how they call the Vita's gyros "unique." I'm not sure they know what that word means.

At any rate, the 3DS is capable of the same thing, I'm sure, and the DS was already capable of doing something similar with the Wii. Did they ever do it? No. It just isn't the same. The Wii-U controller is clearly head and shoulders above the 3DS or Vita as a controller for such things. Sony is just blowing foul smoke to try to suck the wind from Nintendo's sails. (Sony is good at sucking.)

Kinda reminds me when they rushed Sixaxis to retail to 'match' the Wiimote.

And very true. Not everyone is going to get this PSVita so developers aren't going to support it often. Wii U owners will have everything out of the box so it will have the support. I bet more than 90% of Wii U games will use the controller screen, while less than 10% of PS3/PSVita games will support connectivity.

Kind of, except worse. The wiimote plus is much, much cheaper.

Yes. Which is why I'd hope that Nintendo would get rid of all those regular Wiimotes before the Wii U launch so everyone that buys into it that needs new controllers will be Wiimote Plus ready. The Wii U controller has motion built in also. Anybody know if this motion control is on par with Wii MotionPlus? I'd guess it is. No reason not to be.

Good gyros are common. I'd guess it's at least as good as Wii Motion plus, if not better. Heck, while they're at it, why not give the nunchuck a gyro?

A one to one motion Nunchuk would add a lot more control possibilities. I'd like to see it but I'm guessing Nintendo isn't going to improve old controller tech with the focus on getting the Wii U controller just right.
