| I bought into this idea so I would never have to buy batteries again for the brick GameBoy. You could charge it up, play games on the go, and you could use it to play games while it was plugged into an outlet. Its problems were that it was quite a bulky little charger and it would get pretty warm. I was upset when I went to put it away after it had been charging and I smeared the print on it. That's how hot it would get. I like my accessories to look good and now I had a battery pack with smeared wording on it. Battery charger technology was not what it is today. Nowadays you can keep something on a charger even when the battery is not completely depleted of energy and it doesn't diminish the batteries ability to hold a charge anymore than if the battery was dead. This is why Nintendo encourages you to keep the 3DS in the cradle at all times when not in use. Back then if you kept something on a charger and it didn't need to be charged yet you were sucking its life out considerably. This thing unfortunately lost it's charge rather quickly and I was forced to only use it when connected to an outlet after a year. So that sucked. I was a young kid and I took my GameBoy out a lot but I still needed to keep a set of fresh batteries handy. Bummer. 2.6 / 5 | |

| I actually just picked this up the other day. I have to give it a 3/5, I just used it as an AC adapter. | |

| It's hard to find one of these new and used ones still go for $20-$30. And if it's used, then the recharge abilities are probably shot. | |
