Mario Party 9

I picked this up for the family and I, and I have to say I love the gameplay tweaks. While the randomness of the Mario Party franchise is still there its not quite as drastic. The mini games are fun I already have a few favorites. Controls are simple but there is skill involved. Gotta say Im glad I picked it up.

Why am I a hater? I play games for all systems, just cause Im the most anti Nintendo guy on the forum doesnt mean I dont play the games. Ive always been a fan of the Mario Party games. One of the few games I can get my wife to play with me.

I like how the Mario Party 9 sessions aren't very long so you can play multiple games. Having the option in older Mario Party games to go on for a billion turns was only used once, and the game lasted more than 6 hours.

I do enjoy Mario Party 9 a LOT more than MP8 as it feels much fresher and just more fun to play but some of the new ideas just don't quite work for me. I still prefer MP1-3 over them all but MP9 is my 4th favourite in the series. The minigames here are of the highest quality I've seen for a long time but I feel that I play way too many of them for only a few mini stars.

So I wasn't too excited about another MP coming out because we seem to loose interest in them fast. Here's hoping SIL gets it for her family and we can try it out.

Wow, the girl you rescue in Double Dragon got her own 3D land, too? Sweet!
