Out with the old, in with the new. If you guys are getting a fever because there will soon be no Nintendo publication in your mailbox, I have the only prescription. Pure Nintendo magazine. First magazine was just delivered and first off I thought it was weird that it came in a box from hp with magcloud.com on it. I guess that is who they go through, but I have to imagine shipping it in a box has to up the cost. I pulled it out and I am very impressed. They don't use the same glossy finish paper NP used, but it is thicker and more of a matte type. No staple binding, yay! It's filled with previews, full pages of nothing but high quality game pics, reviews, walkthroughs (which kinda takes me back to the old NP style) and other fun stuff.

I heard in an interview that they would ship them with posters separate from the mag so you didn't have to risk ruining it, but the first issue doesn't come with one. Maybe future issues will. The last negative is it is only bi-monthly. 6 issues a year for $20, $10 for digital only, or $25 for both. The first issue says #7 because the first 6 were digital only. This is the first published. If you guys are interested in snatching up a subscription, CLICK HERE!

Here's some pics of the first issue.

That looks pretty nice. Actually, Nintendo Power eased me into the thought of life without them by slowly making me hate them over the last few years. Last time I barely brought myself to renew, and this time I probably would not have.

They hurt me. I'm not sure my heart's ready for another mag.

Nintendo Power getting worse meant Nintendo's in-house designers were much better. We've had to deal with a Future published NP for 5 years and the last 3 were probably ho-hum.

I need that magazine. It's something that has been consistent since childhood. I even considered getting the UK Nintendo Magazine and paying $80/year to have it mailed over to me. drunken

I'm glad this came when it did.

The next issue just arrived and features Rayman Legends on the cover. Inside they have a Rayman Legends interview, Nintendo Power memories, a tour of the n-Space dev office, a look back at the success of the Wii, Legend of Zelda timeline analysis, and a 2012 holiday buyer's guide. Very nice issue!

Nintendo magazines don't stop here though! Nintendo fans are truly a dedicated bunch because a new Nintendo magazine titled "Nintendo Force" is coming soon. More info as it develops but leave it to Nintendo fans to replace Nintendo Power with two new magazines.

Nintendo is like the Pikmin seed that pops out of the pod and into the ground, and then the fans are all the Pikmin that are sprouted from it. I bet if Nintendo stopped making consoles, Nintendo fans would create one or two new Nintendo consoles. Truly, Nintendo has become bigger than Nintendo.

Maybe I'm high, but you never know right? Heck, I should start a new Ninfest magazine. Let's saturate the print market with all sorts of Nintendo goodness.

Yeah, I have, too. I especially encouraged them to join when there were contests. Most don't even bother for that! And the couple who did still didn't stick around! Are we that boring, here?

Part could be they're not really forum goers, part could be product here isn't enticing enough. I'm just hoping the new site will be cool enough for people to stick around for a bit.
