Will mobile phone gaming kill off systems like the 3DS?
I doubt it, there will always be dedicated portables.

Today on Eshop.

3DS Download: Bloody Vampire, Witch's Cat, and Ikachan

NES: Ice Climber

Bloody Vampire & Witch's Cat: *sigh* Just what we need, more cutsie wutsie and bunch of crap. Rolling Eyes

Ikachan: I would find this one a promising game. What I saw just now is that one person gave this game a 2/5 stars.........annnnnnd I find that bullshit! I mean seriously how bad are we talking about this game? Come on now! Suspect

Ice Climber: I give it a pass of thumbs up. Quite entertaining yet more high scores for me and yet more to whack out bad guys that are in your way. Collecting fruits is odd and yet you have to catch a prehistoric bird. What an odd game but still fun. And yes you would get tired of it eventually but at least this game has very entertainable moments here. cherry

Bloody Vampire seems like the perfect game to get my daughter some introductory experience with the RPG genre. Mostly action adventure but there is some RPG in there and the theme/plot seems like something she would be interested in since she loves Monster High so much. Also available at retail but only $5 digital. Download!

Witch's Cat is also available at retail but only $5 digital. This one seems to be borrowing heavily from the Alice in Wonderland plot. Much more puzzles to solve than Bloody Vampire, I can see my daughter possibly getting frustrated. So I say Pass.

Not sure why someone would give Ikachan a 2/5 either. From the creators of Cave Story it has the same look and feel, but seems to be a bit easier and shorter in length. I'm gonna say Download!

Most of us here are Ambassadors so there is no need to purchase Ice Climber. I've "beaten" this title and I love how difficult it is. The controls are sluggish but kinda needs to be so it isn't a cakewalk. The only way to make it better is to give us the Japanese version so we can club seals! I know that's what you guys want! If you don't have it, Download!

Also there is some DLC for Sparkle Snapshots 3D, Mario Core Set and Mario Kart 7 Set. I'll probably get this for my daughter at some point and the DLC sounds interesting.

But the game of the week is Fire Emblem: Awakening also available for download alongside the retail version on the Feb. 4th. I'm going retail but I bet it's going to have a strong digital outing.
