Nothing special this week.

NES: Solomon's Key & Xevious

Solomon's Key: It looks like a cool game. Buuuuuuuuuuut I don't know. I thought it was a bit hard but don't get me wrong, it's fun, just not much else for others for this game. Still. 7/10

Xevious: 5/10

Wow, two shit VC games that've been out since the 80's.

I am a Nintendo die-hard... losing faith.

Not to mention two VC games that have been made available on Wii VC, 3DS VC, or both. I'd really like to see Nintendo release some new VC games alongside the previously released. That being said...

I absolutely loved Solomon's Key. First Wii VC game I downloaded and probably the hardest game I've beaten in a long while. With save states this game will get a little easier. Up for the challenge? DOWNLOAD!

Xevious I got as a 3D Classics game and it's pretty bare bones as far as top down shmups go, but I can't beat this thing. Maybe save states (or whatever they're called) will get me over the hump. Good quick fun. DOWNLOAD!

One massive discount this week:

Chasing Aurora: $15 now $7.50

Too bad Chasing Aurora is total ass. Even free I wouldn't want it, after buying it for full price.

Why would you download a game that is bare bones, and not even a good shmup? Come on, man, have some taste!

Because it's an old title. Of course it's going to be lacking all the flair of more recent shmups. I enjoyed it but tastes vary from gamer to gamer.

Twinbee came out for the same system, man! No excuse. Gradius destroys Xevious, too, though not top down.

I can understand getting it for yourself, but to recommend it is a disservice. The fact is its a lousy game, regardless of how old it is. Music is awful, graphics are forgettable.

I understand tastes vary from gamer to gamer, but if thats your attitude then every game is good enough to download and requires no review or understanding. If its available, download it! Thats how it comes off, anyway...

Guess I'm just pissy because these are already available to download on other consoles, and this is another ball dropped by the Big N.

Updated Wii Street U, as Streex told me on the chat, and its total crap. You can share tagged locations on Miiverse now, but you can't share the photo! So stupid!

That sucks about the update. Probably not letting us share photos just in case there is something on there that wouldn't be appropriate. You know good 'ol censoring Nintendo!

And quit hating on Xevious! Are you also gonna tell me Urban Champion is crap too? Laughing

Sorry I got Xevious love. I want more people to love it with me. I love it for the challenge. A lot of people don't like a good challenge these days.

So in my best Cranky Kong voice let me say "Back in my day, games had challenge! None of this save every 5 minutes garbage! And we liked it! Nowadays these young whipper-snappers call a game trash because it asks too much of them! Nonsense I say! Grow a pair and pick back up the controller! You don't know challenge till you go through several broken controllers and holes in the wall! Beat a game worth beating and then you'll know what it feels like to truly achieve something!"

Was that a little over the top?

Nah, youre good. I was being a dick. LOL
But Google wouldn't even post the stuff if it had delicate information, its not like there are pictures of people or addresses in the program. Just seems kinda dumb to have that update but omit the picture. Oh well...

Maybe they don't want someone going to a strip club and posting it on Miiverse. I dunno. I try to think of reasons since they never give us one.

I haven't jumped on there yet personally. I gotta check the new features out.

Yeah. I figure if enough of us complain in Miiverse they might add it or comment on it.
