| Animal Crossing was actually released first for the N64 in Japan. And the 64 was not region coded, meaning you can actually play any imported game on your American N64. HOWEVER: The plastic casing in each region model is different. To bypass this, simply run it through an N64 Gameshark. Select Run Game, and you have a non-mod way to play imports on your 64! With that said, this version has a few differences, most notably some variations on the NES games. I dunno which they are, though, I am not the series fan so much as my wife is. Just thought I'd pass along the knowledge. | |

| Good to know. I have a Game Shark. I love the Animal Crossing series and just recently used the Action Replay to unlock The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros. in the GameCube version. I brought this up on our last podcast (still trying to get to posting it) but I think Nintendo never allowed for those games to be accessed because they realized they could repackage them as classic GameBoy Advance games and sell for $20.
I don't import much unless its Virtual Boy, but now I know I can with N64. Good tip! | |

| Ah yes. Animal Forest is really difficult when it comes to Japan only games. But sometimes you get all different kinds of Furniture and Accessories that was not in the GameCube game before. Like I Love U shirt for instance and the construction worker sign. *sigh* I never actually have gotten around to finish this but I already have completed the first house pay mortgage and it was pretty easy if, you are lucky enough to realize what strategy you use. I wish I can play this again ! | |
