I'll probably pass. I tried that demo of Bit.Trip Beat and thought it was ok but found the gameplay to be a bit to casual for me.

Casual? What was casual about it? One level takes like 10 minutes to clear, any longer than that and trust me your eyes would be bleeding. The controls were/are tight, the techno is trippy (though smoking a hooter helps make it better LOL), and though the story is laughably thin, it is entertaining.

I guess I just don't like the term casual because it is applicable to any game you want it to be, regardless of your intense feelings towards any one particular game. I can play Mariokart casually, or I can play it hardcore. Same with Bejeweled or Sims or anything. The attitude of the player is casual or hardcore, not the game itself.

I thought it was quite awesome, and especially cool for a rhythm game. Not to mention Beat, Core, Void, and Runner are all entirely different styles of gameplay, judging one from the other is really not a good idea in this case.

Not that I need you to like it or anything, just thought I'd say that demo doesn't do it justice.

you sure as hell dont pass on all the other "casual" games in your collection.

First I'd like to say I believe there are core and casual games, and core and casual gamers.

Maybe casual in this case was blind labeling. I don't know. Bit.Trip Runner I could totally love and it isn't fair to judge a game by the demo so it wasn't right for me to say that. My rep just shot down 3 notches.
