Will mobile phone gaming kill off systems like the 3DS?
I doubt it, there will always be dedicated portables.

PostSubject: Fallout 3   Tue Apr 21, 2009 11:38 pm

My brother came home this past weekend and brought his PS3 with a new copy of Fallout 3 with him. I really only had about two hours with the game but I was able to watch him play at a further point in the game. It is quite a blast to play and is just as addicting as Oblivion (not surprising since it's by the same developer). I found myself always wanting to complete just one more objective before I shut it down. The beginning of the game (which is primarily what I played) is well scripted and makes the creation and introduction process a little more entertaining, although, after a play through or two it might seem a little redundant.

Graphics and gameplay are all well done and will feel extremely familiar to those who played oblivion. The VATS system (which basically lets you pause the game and pick which body part to hit on your respective enemy) is fun and very entertaining, although I can't help and feel this will make the game a little too easy down the road. Still, seeing dismembered limbs and decapitated heads flying off your enemies never seems to get old. I'll have to put some more time into the game before I can give any better impressions. If this title is as similar to Oblivion as I believe, though, that could take quite a while due to how long you can play Oblivion while still just scratching the surface. Has anyone else been able to play this wonderful title?

Im playing it right now on the 360. I like it, and thats wierd because I hated Oblivion. Its the first RPG in years to really get me into it. I couldnt even get into Final Fantasy 12. Lets hope I can get into 13 Smile

I actually liked playing Fallout 3 on my brother's PS3 so much that I went out, bought a new video card for my CPU, and bought the PC version. It is an amazing game to play for hours on end, and one I will probably come back to time and time again (partly due to the huge length of the game). Great purchase.

On a side note, the video card I bought was in the Radeon HD 4760 series. It is an incredible card for the price.

Anyone tried out any of the DLC for this or had any issues with bugs?

Did you ever finish this game? What's the final verdict?

Never beat it, I lost interest. The game was good but suffered from too much freedom. I like my RPG's too keep my on a fixed path. If I get deistracted I lose interest.

That is precisely why I couldn't get into this game or Oblivion. Just too much freedom.

Also FF12 was Kentucky Fried Fail, absolutely abhorrent.

LOVED fall out 3. i know iv put over 200 hours in it. iv bought all the DLC not long ago but as i started a new game iv not yet got to most of it. i have played threw mother ship zeta which was nice, no problems to report but iv heard some people complain that some of the dlc was buggy on both 360 and ps3. i wish i had a PC able to run it because i know there has to be a ton of mods that make it even better which was the case with Oblivion. Another game iv put crazy amounts of time in to, prob getting near 1k hours i would bet. And my pc is able to run that game fairly well And let me tell you there are mods for its that completly out shine all the offical DLC and fix every problem with the game and made it much larger and more complexe. i love huge open world games like F3 and Oblivion as long as they have a lot of stuff to do in them and dont feel empty, farcry 2 im looking at you.
