| Well I know Streex is well aware of this game due to the change to the forums background. Anyways, I have to say after reading two previews, I am really psyched about this title. I have played the first one with a friend and it was possibly the freakiest game I've ever played. We waited till dark to play and shut off all the light beside the glow of the television. We never were able to finish it (lack of time) but when a game can make you actually make you hesitate from moving on merely because you're afraid of what you might find you know it has really succeeded at getting inside your head. This new title looks to have that same ability of freaking you out, possibly to a greater extent. It sounds like everything you do in this title is going to have some effect down the road and I couldn't be happier! The combat system is gone altogether (although flares can impede the progress of your pursuers) but in its place is a more developed escape system. Apparently, you'll be able to jump fences, dodge in houses, and barricade areas in order to escape, somewhat similar to Resident Evil 4. Shattered Memories is a "remake" of the original, but I use that term lightly because while the main objective is the same, the events that happen in the game have changed dramatically from the reports we've been getting. The rusty look of the distorted town have also been replaced by a much more icy change. It's just a shame that we have to wait till the fall to get our hands on this game. When that time comes, though, you can be sure the lights are going off in my house and I'll be huddled in a ball dreading my curiousity for forcing me to take those next few step . Is anyone else as excited as me for the next Silent Hill? | |

| Oh absolutely! I already have this game on my must buy list. Those that loved the original will find something new here. Like you said this isn't a remake but rather a reimagining of the first game. I also like how the game will personalize your experience. Depending on your choices and the way you play, the enemies could look differently in your game than another persons game. What gamers experience will differ from game to game as you progress. The choice to take the ability to attack out actually will make it easier for more people to get into it. Plus I hear the combat system in the last Silent Hill was horrible so this might have been for the better regardless. | |

| I've had this game paid and reserved since it was available, but it keeps getting pushed back for delays. Which is a good thing, though. I'm sure they was Silent Hill's first appearance on a Nintendo console to be a memorable one. I'm really liking the idea of no combat, it's all about fear and escape. | |

| I sat down with the same friend who played Silent Hill 1 with me and it was quite the experience. The game does atmosphere quite well and I know that I was on the edge of my seat a lot. Throughout most of the game you will probably be more tense than actually terrified, but there are a few nightmares near the end where I about freaked out. I am still unsure where it ranks among the other Silent Hill games in the scare factor, but as a title on its own it is of very high quality. Plus I love the flashlight controls (so fluid).
As an aside I want to say I really do not miss the clunky combat of previous titles in the least. This game also has quite the ending and threw me for a loop. I say you guys should give this game a shot even if it is only about six hours in length. The re-playability is pretty good with the ability to change your answers to questions and take different paths throughout the game. Plus, as in all Silent Hill games, they have the hidden ending.
Oh, just remember to play in the dark, it adds to the experience. Also, don't save more than eight pictures on your phone. I hear there is a glitch that makes his arm mess up if you have nine or more (its really not a problem, didn't happen to me, just giving you guys a heads up). | |

| Thanks Lier X Agerate! It sounds just like I imagined it would be. I've got the game sitting in my backlog waiting to be played. So many people seem to be enjoying this game. Looks like the delays paid off. | |
