Will mobile phone gaming kill off systems like the 3DS?
I doubt it, there will always be dedicated portables.

Yes, the 3DS will be the last portable system from Nintendo.

Never, mobile gaming is just a fad and will die off soon.

Be honest...who here bought into Nokia's plan for handheld gaming dominance? The N-Gage was neither a good phone or a good gaming device. Plus you had to take it apart just to play a different game. And the games...horrible.

These are pretty much the opinions I find on the interwebs since I never really took a stab at it. I had my GameBoy Advance and I was happy. I saw the demo stations at stores but never felt the need to try it out. At the very least, it always made me make a run for the border with its delicious taco design.

LOL Triz, I'll say its a stretch! This thing doesn't even belong in the forum, Streex!!! >Razz

The friggin' Bandai Wonder Swan deserves more cred than this beast.

It was sold at GameStop, therefore it can be considered a handheld gaming device. tongue

Gamestop is failstore.

There's this great indie-shop here called The Gaming Wearhouse, its pretty bossanova. Lots of systems to choose from, both consoles and games. The place even has a few 32x games I don't own.

And a totally kick-ass selection of PSX games. God, they have Rival Schools, Einhander, its enough to make me think about killing my family for the insurance money. ;3 I kid, I kid!

No really.

Hey, what about the Phantom? Doesn't that one deserve a thread?

With the economy as it is I wouldn't be surprised if we started to see an increase in gamer family deaths. Gotta afford those games somehow!

There's a store here called GamesPlus that's pretty cool. Lots of retro stuff. Even have some old Atari's for sale. I'd go hog wild on their selection but they don't have many complete games, just cartridges.

I don't worry about games being "complete" or not, that's just an added bonus. I focus mainly on carts themselves. If a franchise particularly sparks my fancy, I buy boxed.

Not worrying about boxes is probably the smarter way to go to increase the library quicker. If I never sold my collection I wouldn't bother with boxes and manuals since I used to throw them away when I was a kid. Now that I've started up again I have to keep the boxed library going.

I hear that. I hate myself for doing that but who knew boxes would be valuable back then?!?!?

It might have been a cool little device to own for a few weeks. Maybe ahead of its time. Poor design didn't help it any.
