Is $250 a fair price for the 3DS?

Now that the smoke has cleared and we've had some time to think about it, do you feel paying $250 for the 3DS is fair? It's the same price as the Wii when it first launched. In comparison to the DSi XL's launch, it will only be $60 more.

Because of this I think $250 is the perfect price. Not too much more than the DSi XL but with so much more to offer.

Big problem for me is that I'm moving the same week it comes out. I'll be going broke to cover moving expenses AND if I do have money for it I'll need to stop in some random state to wait in a launch line (depending on when I start my trek). I really need to plan ahead or this is going to turn into a launch nightmare for me.

I think the price is fair. I was expecting $300, so anything less and I feel like I win, lol.

Oh and honestly, Im in the camp that says anything over 199 is too much for a handheld. alas Im an early adopter and always buy them at $250 anyway.

Well this is the first handheld I'm willing to buy @ launch. Portable isn't my strong suit so was never interested when any of them came out, save the GBA which is probably my personal favorite handheld of all time.

I'd say I'm in the camp as well, but I think with all the tech involved $250 at launch isn't too terrifying.

I'd say the GBA is my favorite handheld of all time also. I think I'm more hyped for the 3DS and will soon see if it becomes my new fave. And thank you for the sympathies.

My guess is that you feel $350 is way too much. Probably anyone in your region would vote $250 being fair. I want to share some of the sympathies I got from Z with you.

It was NOT used! Well, maybe they wiped the memory clean, but I had to set it all up (language, internet, etc), came with box and everything else, not registered! >

Yep, you can! Right underneath your status (which should say platinum ) is a link says create family account. Do it. Register games again.

So with a family account you can register a bunch of the same titles? Is there a one registry per game on the single account?

Yeah. If you have a single account you can only register one copy of the game. I found that out when I got my second copy of MarioKart Wii. :\ So then I made a new account. Then found out I could have made a family account. Then, each member can register his own copies of a game but pool the coins together in one "family" account. Neat, huh?

Needless to say... I have abused the system. >;D

I was wanting the Mario wrist straps because I thought they were decorated like the picture. Now I see they are just solid colored. Hmmmm.
