My GameBoy Advance collection now completely beaten

Just beat Final Fantasy V Advance last night. Took me 67 hours to do so. But with that, I have finally beaten all my GameBoy Advance games. Here's the list of games that I put to bed:

There are a few stinkers in there, but that is a damn solid GBA collection. If not a bit small.

Like you, I'm more of a console gamer than a portable gamer. My collections through the generations have been around 60 games for home consoles and 30 for portable consoles.

The fact that you give the Harry Potter shitfest a higher score than GS makes me question your sanity.

I could go with the flow and keep my ratings along the lines of popular opinion, but I'm not a sellout. If I have fun with a game most dislike I'm not afraid to share my opinion. Quite frankly there are probably others out there like me that liked Harry Potter more than Golden Sun. Maybe not many, but consider me the voice for those without one.

YouTube has the most hilarious hate mail! People are ruthless on there. Some much unneccessary racist remarks.

Well- its ok to like Harry Potter more than Golden Sun, but that doesn't make it a better game. Basing ratings on opinion is hopelessly flawed.

I go by some simple rules: Storytelling, Gameplay, Game control (a bit different), Presentation, Misc. Cool Factors.

Some games don't have all the rules applied (puzzle games don't need a story, though when one does I should think it also falls under the "Misc" category) but its a solid enough routine for me. hahahaha

In any case- I think GS dominates the HP game in every category I listed, Am I wrong?

edit: I suppose even my rules are subjective... what makes a story "good"?

Yeah there are harder game to find and play it and which ones you like it more. I have no idea of which Gameboy games that I like the most. But.......to be fair I do like Game & Watch Gallery as if it was my thing for high scores meaning to unlock the stuff of what you are playing next or not.

When I get my 3DS I can finally start owning some GB/GBC games (and hopefully GBA down the line)

Really, any review you read is the opinion of one person. I take into the account of all the categories you mentioned, but I rely heavily on fun when it comes to score time. Story and character development does play a bigger role in RPG's. I'd hate to score a game low because the graphics and sound was subpar but the gameplay kept me addicted day after day. Also games that bore me that are beautiful don't deserve a high mark.

I really look up to that one reviewer years ago (I think at IGN) that lost his job for giving an honest review. That took balls. We need more reivewers at these high traffic sites to give us the real deal like he did. I still (sort of) base purchases on reviews but I've been tricked on a number of occasions (remember Kirby's Epic Yarn? meh, but that's just me). Thing is a lot of these sites are paid to give a game a favorable score. On the flip side, if you don't give them money then your game might get a lower score than it should. Politics. It's everywhere, even in gaming. Yeah my reviews and scores come out of left field sometimes, but I hope it's refreshing to see a game from a different perspective. We do agree on the quality of several games, it's just the glaring differences that get remembered. I respect all of your opinions and don't think they're flawed at all, even when I choose to differ. It brings up good discussion and debate and makes our gaming passion that more fun.
