| This is the second game in the franchise I've dipped into and I am thoroughly impressed. Natsume really has the farming sim genre locked up. Usually in a franchise the same characters and sometimes storylines carry over from game to game, but with Harvest Moon only gameplay does. All the characters, story, and scenario is completely new. In this one you are on an island working to become a rancher. You and all the characters are completely new. It's a new life. Sadly I know how long these games are so I didn't want to get too involved. They make current-gen RPG's look like NES action games in terms of length. I managed to make it through the first GameCube entry and it took me 4 years to complete. Basically I was able to go through high school faster than it took me to beat it, but I loved every minute of it and the 4 hours I put into this one have shown me that another epic story was unfolding. If you are a diehard Harvest Moon fan you are going to love it. If you have never played a Harvest Moon game give this a shot. And if you're like me and you are just a Harvest Moon fan (not diehard), stay away. You will be sad when you find out how much you will love this but realize you don't want to invest another epic amount of time to get through it. 5 / 5 | |
