| Before I get lambasted for buying this, let me explain: it was $20 at Goodwill and thats $10 cheaper than the microphone by itself. So there! Credibility intact! Riiiiiight.............
Anyway, the game, at first, seems like your typical karaoke game. Its not. Its worse, only 1 of the game modes puts the lyrics on the gamepad (WTF?!) and that mode is not the "campaign" mode, its party mode. Stupid.
The song selections are abysmal, there is NO rock to be had (Nickelback is more akin to anal sex than music), and Nintendo promised DLC in early 2013 but is nowhere to be found yet.
Seriously, its songs. Not like you have to create new levels or characters or costumes... Just new songs to license. You'd think DLC for this type of game would have been ready out of the gate. But no.
NOW, if and when DLC comes to this game, it could make a significant difference. But as it stands now this game is totally weaker than Singstar, so stick with that franchise if karaoke is yer thing. This game didn't even reach my abysmally low expectations for it.
Oh, and there is BLATANT lag in your microphone. Bought a new one, too, and still happened. Took the 2nd mic back.

| The Nickelback comparison...spot on. lol. I've noticed the lag problem too which has made it impossible for me to score the max amount of stars on a song. I also wait and wait for DLC, but I sing higher praises for this game because it isn't trying to do anything epic. Just a dumb fun party game. I really like some of the other gamepad features like picking songs on the fly while someone else is singing, or messing with the music with the equalizers. I expect DLC to start arriving in March. I think I'm liking this game a lot more than you guys just because I don't hold it to high standards. Like the Just Dance games, it's just something you play when you got people over and are actin' da fool! | |

| I guess it just irks me that out of 50 songs, literally 7 of them hold any sort of musical importance. I don't wanna sing fucking Rhianna. Or any of those slutty twats. And if they release any more Nickelcrap-type "rock" Nintendo will receive a very angry "letter-to-the-editor". LOL
Come on, its a game about singing. Lets have actual artists to emulate. One Queen song is not enough. Where is Billy Joel? Elton John? Even 80s rock like Foreigner or late 70's icons Boston. You know, REAL singers. Not auto-pitch halfassery.

| I have to wonder how much of the selection involves what singers will allow their songs in the game or how much they want in return for granting permission. Metallica and The Beatles have been some of the biggest party poopers in recent memory. Then you have other bands like No Doubt going back and trying to sew Activision for how they were represented in Guitar Hero.
I think it would be a good idea for Nintendo to look at the 4,000+ library of songs/artists on Rock Band DLC as a starting point of performers that might be willing and not requiring a lot in return.
