| Let me take you back to 2006. The Wiimote was revealed. Everyone had their opinion but most importantly Microsoft and Sony laughed and thought Nintendo was very silly in this radical move and they would never survive with this gimmick. Fast forward to 2010. The Wii has dominated retail, the proverbial bubble has yet to burst, analysts proven wrong month to month, and now Sony and Microsoft are ready to release their own motion controllers, Natal and Move. Move looks and feels very similar to the Wiimote while Natal will take a more hands free approach, but either way, what once was a gimmick and ridiculous move on Nintendo's part to them is now a genius innovation and they want in. The emulation outdoing the innovation remains to be seen but to Nintendo, motion control is old hat and you can bet they have something up their sleeve while the other guys play catch up. | |

| Dead on, Streex. What was once considered a stupid waggle fest is now being snatched up by the two companies who suck at innovating video games. And boy do they suck.
Move? Natal? Christ, its so pathetic to me. Its like this: I created blue. SONY then creates... light blue. SUCH AMAZING INNOVATION!!!

| They want a piece of that non game buying public apparently. I dont want move or natal, and I sure as hell hope they keep the integration with the non games and out of my "hardcore" fun. | |

| I fully expected this. Honestly, they'd have to be morons not to be able to surpass it on a technical scale. How old is the Wii remote, now? Still, as I said elsewhere, I don't see a big success for them. For one thing, they're aiming at an audience now that they've snubbed all along. I don't think it will be enough to move a large segment of the market to them, especially with the support issues it's likely to have. | |

| To say that motion control has no way of being hardcore fun is just limiting yourself. While it is true that the scheme is used and abused with games having no business utilizing the tech. But some games have done it, and done so brilliantly. And it isn't the only focus of the console. Plenty of titles rely on classic control stylings and are also brilliant.
True, a lot of stress is put on the motion because it is new, but it certainly isn't the only reason the Wii is an amazing console. | |

| It's just like with 3D games. Mario 64 showed that they can be great. Then they became all the rage, but the majority of the games ended up mediocre at best. That doesn't mean 3D action games are simply a gimmick. It just means that others wanted to cash in on the incredible Mario, Zelda, and Metroid success while ignoring that those games still required the same thought and design excellence that the previous titles had. Obviously, we've seen a resurgence of 2D games that are great, but that's because more are realizing that 2D is not inferior to 3D simply because it lacks a D. They both have their own uses and to force a game into one or the other without good reason is a mistake. The same goes for motion controls. They're shiny and new, so many, many lazy developers think they can get by on shoddy game design simply by adding waggle due to the success of a few motion-controlled games. It's not the Wii's fault. It's the lazy developers. | |

| Wow! All great input. I'm not lying when I say this, but you guys must be the smartest gamers on the interwebs! I lol'd when I read sony was innovating blue with....LIGHT BLUE! It seems that there have been some things the others have done better but it has always stemmed from a Nintendo product. I'm really shocked that I haven't seen a sony or m$ balance board yet. maybe sony will try to rush to the market first with their own vitality sensor, like they tried with sixaxis. | |

| And again they will learn that rushing their "superior" tech out will only screw them with malfunctioning, twitching product. | |

| At least Sega was more responsive at it. They would watch what Nintendo was doing, then rush to get to market first with their half-baked imitation. | |

| Love it. I never knew he made that likeness to the Wiimote. Sorry, I just had to officially post it. I want to remember this. | |
