Hideki Kamiya wants to make the next StarFox

Platinum Games' Hideki Kamiya has expressed with much passion on his Twitter page that he would love to create a new StarFox game.

"If they had the team that made Star Fox 64 make it...I want Nintendo's staff to come to Platinum, stick guns at us and tell us 'You guys make a new Star Fox.'"

If Nintendo was the mob I'm sure that would be the scenario! Miyamoto recently laughed and said 'we'll see' when asked about the next StarFox title. If they aren't planning on surprising us at E3 I'd hope Nintendo would take Kamiya to task and see what he can do. He's known for making some great games like Okami and Bayonetta, and a new StarFox would make his resume even more impressive.

This would be excellent, I haven't liked a Starfox game since the 64 one, and I liked it less than the snes one. The GCN and DS iterations were crap.

Platinum Games seems to make decent stuff, Madworld was extremely crappy though IMO.

I sit in a small pool of gamers that liked StarFox Adventures and Assault. Command was hugely fun. And MadWorld was awesome. I couldn't stop laughing at how over the top it was.

I didn't see the humor as it has been done so many times before, its just gore and swearing. Basically Adult Swim humor in video game context. Not my cup of tea I guess.

That is a rather small group you belong to, isn't it?

Command was definitely excellent.

I can't count on my fingers and toes how many small groups I'm a part of.

Agree with you on the MadWorld point, but sometimes I need that. I play so many thoughtful, clean games with deep storylines. Sometimes I just want to throw a middle finger in the air and cut everybody's head off. Great release for a stressful day no? MadWorld was that game for me.
