Developer thinks next gen consoles won't have physical media

A very scary thought as a collector. No more physical games means no more game collections! What good is a collection of digital games you can't actually hold in your hand? Apple is already leading the way with the iPhone and Sony has dabbled with the PSP Go. As Nintendo gamers, we may have the last console that goes fully digital with games. Nintendo feels there is still an importance with physical games so maybe the last company to lose the cartridge game format will be the last in the digital move. I see it coming and I hope it gets put off as long as possible.

The references I made were for all digital products, being the iPhone and PSP Go. Everybody has some digital gaming these days.

Well, it may be the future, but all it really is is ripping off the consumer.

And unlike an intangible SERVICE (like internet, phone, etc) where though nothing is physical I still know what the money goes toward, DLC is charging you full price for just the shadow. Sure, its the same size, has all the same intricacies (at least, for this analogy) yet when you try to physically confront it... you can't!

I fear this day. It will be like the Skynet robots from Terminator taking over the world.
