Will mobile phone gaming kill off systems like the 3DS?
I doubt it, there will always be dedicated portables.

Coming May 15th, the Wii will drop to $150 and be packed in with Mario Kart Wii w/ Wii Wheel instead of Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. It will still have a Remote Plus inside though. All controllers, even the Wii Wheel, will match the system's color and the black Wii Wheel will be available to buy separately too.

Also Nintendo have launched their Wii version of Player's Choice, called Nintendo Selects available for $19.99 each. These games will be available to start with:

This is the first time that Wii Sports will be available separately. More games will be added later. In Europe the line-up is Wii Sports, Twilight Princess, Mario Strikers Charged, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves and Animal Crossing.

I've got all of those but Mario Super Sluggers. Was that any good?

I don't know about this "Nintendo Selects" branding. Sounds like something you'd pick up in the meat department at the grocery store.

No idea about Super Sluggers. Never even got a PAL release so I can't try it. Personally I'd like a better name for the version of Nintendo Selects we get over here.

Nintendo Selects makes me think Chicken Selects from McDonald's. And thats not good.

Sluggers was crap don't worry about missing it Matt. Typcail Mario sports title by now you've played it a thousand times especially if you played the GCN title. Just like the Mario soccer game for Wii, not enough upgrades to warrant the purchase. (Online was shit)

I found the online for Mario Strikers Charged to be seamless. No problems with lag or finding opponents. I just lost...EVERY..SINGLE..TIME!

Are any of you going to pick up any of these cheap Nintendo Selects titles?
For collector reasons, I steer clear of reprints that look different than the original. They are hardly as valuable as the originals years later.

Depends how cheap they are here. I might get Animal Crossing and WarioWare off our list.

I also have them all except Sluggers. If you don't care about packaging, by all means pick up Twilight Princess and Animal Crossing. Those games are a steal at $20.

That Wii for $150 sounds like a deal! It's kicking off this week. I was reading down the list of everything you get: Wii console, Wii MotionPlus, Nunchuk, Wii Wheel, and Mario Kart Wii. Check out the new Wii boxart.

Yeah screw you early adopters. Even when I bought my second Wii 4 years after launch (or was it 3) it was a mere two weeks later they released the black Wii. And it didn't come with any extra incentives. Nothing like rewarding noobs who waited until the death of the console for buying it!

Grrrr...... Price dropping a console is one thing, but to give them all these extra free things that I, the fervent aficionado, have paid full price to support their endeavors I can't help but feel
cheated.
Like their shitty Wii Party gift was just... not as great as it could have been. I mean, it wasnt even a WiiMote Plus, it was the shitty extension!!! WTF

Also got a date yesterday for the new Wii bundle: June 2nd. Exactly the same as yours. Also the price dropped to $199.95. Wii Sports is being sold separately for $29.95. No Nintendo Selects as of yet.

The noobs only buy when things are dirt cheap. This way there is fresh meat online for the veterans to feast on in Mario Kart Wii. Yeah they get all the goods at a fraction of the cost, but it's like upgrading to VHS when DVD is coming within a year. They're about to be outdated again when we pick up our Project Cafe's.

Wii bundle for $200 in Austrailia? What price did the Wii launch at there?

Well- as an early adopter I am used to sparse offerings but seriously, this is a lot more swag than they gave us, you know, the people who made it successful.

Amazon has a deal today where if you buy 1 wii select title you get one free. I know most of you guys already have them or played them, but its a decent deal if you dont have the games. plus $20 for 100 coins might be worth it to some people lol.
