| Here come the Men in Black. 5-star defenders! That's right! I love the movies and even though this game doesn't follow the story of any of them, I liked playing within the Men in Black universe. None of the characters from the movie are in the game except for the talking dog that I can see, but what I liked about this game is the variety of gameplay it has. It's mostly a shooter that is loosely on rails (it progresses you to the next alien-filled area where you are free to choose where to take cover), but there are a few levels where you are riding in a flying car through the futuristic city shooting aliens in front and back of you. Then there are a few levels where you are trying to be stealth and take out security cameras and aliens in hiding, and there are even a few levels that feel more like a point and click adventure as you try to advance the story with clues you get from talking to people. I first jumped into this game multiplayer and that was a bad idea. I had no idea what kind of weapons and items I had and it was a frustrating experience until I went through single player. The 2 player competitive and 4 player hot seat modes were a lot more fun afterwards. The boss fights are nice, plenty of weapons and items to upgrade, and my favorite part...compatible with the Wii Zapper and Top Shot peripherals! I used the Top Shot shotgun. It was getting lonely in the peripheral cabinet. The game takes about 5 hours to complete but you can go back and try to beat it on a more difficult level. Yeah, here I go again. A game everyone hates but me. 5/5 | |
