| Subject: Virtual Console...where's the beef? Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:51 pm | |
| When first announced, Nintendo had us all buzzing about the Wii when the idea of playing all our favorite games on past consoles was revealed. The console launched without the service, we waited. The service launched but with only a couple subpar games, we waited. The one or two games a week continues to trickle in filled with mostly average titles, we're still waiting. I'm not sure what the holdup is, but Nintendo is sitting on a mountain of quality retro games that haven't been released yet. Games with no license issues that can be made available with no problem, but three years later they are still unavailable. There are many great games available today that I'm thankful for, but the service needs a jolt. I'd love to see at least one megaton VC title a week. Maybe they've scaled it back so the WiiWare and retail games don't get overlooked. Maybe they're holding them back with a plan to release them around the time a sequel is launched. The world may never know. | |
