| According to the official NPD numbers 3DS only sold in May -
Nintendo 3DS - 97K
didnt even break into the 100k club.
I know Target is having a sale next week for a $25 gift card with system purchase, so I pose the question to you...Did we eff up buying at launch?

| Probably. Nintendo is releasing the red 3DS in Japan next month so they obviously need to sell more. But I would blame it on not enough games releasing. Ocarina 3D isn't even out yet. | |

| Well it just crossed the million mark in Japan. Looks like the 3DS is going to start slow in America just like the DS did. Zelda might spark some interest. Not to mention titles more people are interested in coming later this year.
It should be noted that not everyone owns a Wii after all. The price cut put the Wii back on top of the PS3. Combined with the Sony hacks and the old boy still has some legs!
I wouldn't say we messed up for buying a console at launch, because that is what we always do. Can't get mad over what can't be predicted. We're the Launch Boyz, ain't that right Z? I'm glad to have had it for this long. I'm not into waiting and waiting to buy because in the future a great deal might spring up. What about the people getting this deal? Should they feel like they messed up if Target has another sale 2 months from now with a $50 gift card?

| Triz- I feel you, man. I was super excited and unloaded a lot of cash at launch. A few days later, my 3DS was sitting on its charger doing nothing. Then came DOA. Now I play this fucker every day. And Link's Awakening, too. So, though it took a few months and I botched up a storm, I still think I made the right decision. So right, in fact, that I went and bought the black one yesterday. 2 3DS here!!!! XD | |

You're freaking nuts. Oh wait, I have two also. And I even went so far as to buy them both at launch. *sigh* There was this bit at Penny-Arcade last Friday: We aren’t entirely sure what to do with the news coming out of E3, vis a vis leaching some kind of satirical payload out of it. There’s lots of n+1, and I’m satisfied in cases like that simply playing them when they come out. The 3DS/NGP thing is following a familiar script, with a Nintendo fielding another Mutant while Sony offers up another brick of congealed Future.
The office went through a torrid kind of affair with the 3DS, based purely on its built-in RPG thing Find Mii, and it’s replaced many DS handhelds not because it had any retail content in particular but because it could emulate their old games and play Find Mii, which is a game about hats.
I have the same relationship with the device that I did with the PSP, which is one where I am constantly trying to find excuses to use it. That’s a matter quite apart from not liking it. I want to like it, but it gives me very few opportunities to integrate the machine into an entire life. I’m hoping the Shop they just dropped in will tell me why I own this hardware.http://www.penny-arcade.com/2011/6/10/The game about hats part made me laugh.

Edit: on topic, the 3DS is kinda getting on my nerves. I love RE:M, but... every game the 3DS is getting is a remake. Its kinda pathetic.

I SAID MONKEY SUIT! MONKEY SUIT STREEX has a... 2% chance of being cute. If I'm ever in a game, I want a monkey suit. - ZeldAnTales wrote:

Hot Ninfest wives that have what it takes to make us pause the games once in a while. Yeah...even the new Pac Man game is somewhat of a remake from another console.

| I heartily agree, Triz. This pisses me off! On the one hand, I look forward to there being more 3DS out there... (now that I've ALREADY collected everything in Street Pass!) ...but on the other had I feel screwed over! Nintendo NEVER drops their prices this quickly.
I told everyone who said, "I'll wait for the price to drop," that Nintendo never drops their prices in less than a year, and during that time, I'll be enjoying my hot new 3DS. Well, I wasn't really enjoying it a lot until RE came out, and now I look like an idiot. Feel like one, too.
EDIT: I was posting at the same time as Z. If what he says is true, I'm an idiot again and should never have doubted big N.

| actually the wording is weird: - Quote :
- By the end of 2011, Nintendo will provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games. These include games like Yoshi's Island™: Super Mario™ Advance 3, Mario Kart™: Super Circuit, Metroid™ Fusion, WarioWare™, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario vs. Donkey Kong™. These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on the Nintendo 3DS in the future.
So only we get teh gba VC games? horrible mistake if true...

| Antilles is right- we get them first for a while. That is all. They will most def release these gba games. Another thing I have been reading is the NES games are called "legacy titles" and will not be in 3d. Failure there, to me, as I own multiple, repeat MULTIPLE versions of said classics, from nes to gba to wii vc. | |
