- At first we didn’t have the Nintendo 3DS development kit, so we started making it on a PC. Oh, and for a while we were using a Wii to make it! (laughs)-Masahiro Sakurai
The game was being built from the ground up for the 3DS, but knowing it was partially created using the Wii, what if they simply kept it as a Wii title? Would that have squashed all the control issues, using the IR pointer on the Wiimote and Nunchuk? The 3DS needed this game to give consumers yet another reason to buy it, but the Wii could have been a welcome place to help it hold attention in its last months. I guess it would have played much like Sin & Punishment, which was fairly easy to control. It would have controlled like butter on Wii, but I can understand why they would want to bolster the library for their new handheld. Personally, I wish this game was on Wii. If the game was built just as it is for 3DS, online and all, I bet the Wii would look a lot stronger in its final year and a lot more Wii's would be running right now. Well, I can always hope for a sequel on Wii U. | |
