Will mobile phone gaming kill off systems like the 3DS?
I doubt it, there will always be dedicated portables.

Yes, the 3DS will be the last portable system from Nintendo.

This is definitely one of my favorite games of all time. Who would have thought Jaleco would have come through with this addicting point and click adventure. You start with Dave and can choose 2 of 6 other characters to help you save your girlfriend. The story changes greatly depending on who you choose and what choices you make. All this leads to many different ways to complete the game. While there wasn't much, some of the music is very catchy and memorable, like Dave's music. A very off beat and unique storyline is what attracted me to this like Earthbound. It went where no other game in its genre had gone before. I put this on my highest recommendation list. If you like this type of game, look no further.

Pretty good, especially for an NES game/point and click game (not my cup of tea). I feel like it doesn't hold up well today, and would lend itself to a sequel ala Tales of Monkey Island (not that I liked those episodic games really).

This was Lucas Arts? Right?

Yeah I believe it was LucasArts. Published by Jaleco. Tales of Monkey Island and StrongBad are loads of fun. With point and click games the story has to be humorous to keep my attention and that's also what Maniac Mansion did for me. But unlike the episodic games, Maniac Mansion had multiple characters you could be meaning there wasn't just one way to solve the puzzles to get to the end.

Actually, there was a sequel. In fact, it was very good. Versions of it had full voice acting. It was called Day of the Tentacle. Instead of selecting your party, it featured Bernard, (the selectable nerd from the first game,) with two new characters, each in a different time period, but all in the same house. It made for some fun ineractions and various temporal puzzles. It was even funnier than Maniac Mansion, but also included many nods to the first game with in-jokes you might not get if you hadn't played the first. Definitely get it if you haven't played it already.
