| This is, perhaps, one of the biggest atrocities in gaming. This monstrosity was released in 1994 in the US, and sales were slow. Snails pace! And for good reason: The Sega CD attachment was well-known for malfunctioning. This and the fact that the sega Saturn was already known to be coming very soon down the line, people just weren't eager to spend another $159 on an aging Genesis console. Then, fuck, there is just the fact that to connect it all together, the chords become a real mess. Because, if you had the 32x, odds are you had the Sega CD. Separate chords for all three. Utter chaos back there. And, as anyone who has watched AVGN knows, the 3 ac adapters amount to a total pain in the ass. A few stand-out titles: Kolibri - A shmup game in the vain of Gradius with a really cool and unique twist. You are a hummingbird, and the backgrounds are really well done nature themes. Enemy sprites are impressively detailed insects and other fluttering things. BC Racers - A racing game in the Chuck Rock series designed by Lara Croft creator Toby Gard. Spider-Man Web of Fire - Known for its rarity and its actual decent gameplay (the 32x saw very few quality titles due to lack of support from basically everyone), as well as pretty cool looking renditions of Spidey and his ilk. I had to by 2 of these before I could even get it working. They suck, have almost nothing good to play, and are ugly. For collectors or weirdos only. I do happen to be both! > | |

| I dont know if it was a good thing that I was burned by the Sega CD enough that I never bothered with this add on...Or just sad I actually bought the Sega CD in the first place. I will say Eternal Champions CD made it semi-worthwhile. | |

| IMO The Sega Cd has an actually quite impressive amount of good titles. For references I'll say the 2 Lunar games, Popful Mail, Eternal Champions, Sonic Cd, and probably some shmup I'm forgetting cause yeah, there was a sweet shmup for it... I will look it up later.
Anyhoo- CD was worth it for some, the 32x though... it just didn't have games. | |

| I saw the AVGN review on this awhile back. It looked like a monstrosity with all 3 hooked up together. That is extreme overkill. Nintendo had it right. Just in case they had the need to have add-ons, they made extension ports on the consoles for the future. This allowed the N64 to have an expansion pak and the GameCube to have a broadband adapter and GameBoy Player without adding too much to the overall bulkiness. Did the Genesis have ports for future extensions? They should have worked on the design of the add-ons so they weren't so bulky. This guy went over board... | |
