Shmups... I have a love hate relationships with shmups. On one hand, they are a blast to watch/play with graphics that are fst and agile. Then again, they are usually balls hard. So I never beat them or even think about it, really. LOL Perhaps Agetecs "Paul's Shooting Adventure" will help me out.
Ok- I have to bitch about the name. The protagonist is a baby with super powers and firepower, fighting off sea creatures and other cutely designed animals. You can even take on enemy forms after you defeat them. So why, WHY god why, the mundane uninspired title? Explosive Diaper Destroyer coulda worked, too.
Anyhow- the core of the game mechanic is a basic sidescrolling shmup, you play as a flying baby (your "aircraft") shooting things until the end of a level, where a boss battle ensues. This game seems to reward haphazard spaz shooting rather than thought-out technique, which is good for newcomers but lousy for veterans. I fall somewhere in the middle.
With that said the difficulty is nonexistent. Blasted through in about 20 minutes. Replay value is moderate, the game is fun and colorful but once you've seen/played it, its over. @ 200 points I can't complain.
