Here is the thread to discuss and hype up everything about OoT 3D! This is my most anticipated 3DS game and can't wait until June to get it. I'll start by posting the intro video. SO BEAUTIFUL.

ah yes. I watched this and nostalgia consumed me. Take me back Link, take..me..back!
Hey Matthew999, do you know if Australia is getting the gold box art or the more artistic box art?

Ah yes, that is a good question. Usually Australia follows the UK with everything so I wouldn't be surprised if we got the artistic styled box art. Which isn't a bad thing since I LOVE that one. Here's the two different styles for anyone who doesn't know.
But there's two different stories with the recent DS releases. Australia had the same box art that the US had for Phantom Hourglass with Europe having a different one but with Spirit Tracks we got the same one as Europe with the US having a different one. So who knows what will happen here. What I really want though is a gold cartridge.

I like the 3DS intro better. Not just because of the better graphics, but I like how they wait until the entire intro plays out and then the title appears.

Is it me or in some instances do you prefer the darker palette of color for the terrain?
This is really why I wanted a 3DS. I am kinda disappointed in it right now, the games are just not there. Its been a few months. We need games. The Wii is fucking DEAD. GIVE ME OoT NOW!!!
This game will repeat WILL win game of the year. :3

I like the 3DS intro for sure, but I'm not sure what they've done with the sky. I liked the N64 intro for being night to dawn but on the 3DS it just looks like night to day with no dawn.

The only new features been announced so far is a Boss Battle mode where you can play any of the games bosses whenever you like. A nice addition for people who like to replay boss fights. In the original it lacked an option to fight a boss again unless you started a new file. I never actually noticed that until people pointed it out. I know in Majora's Mask you could so I thought Ocarina did too. And Master Quest is included in this version, probably unlockable after beating the normal quest. It's mirrored this time around so even if they don't change it, MQ will still be different.

Now we're talking. I wondered if they would include Master Quest, but really didn't think they would. It made sense in MM that you could fight bosses over... due to the Groundhog Day scenario. Fighting bosses over, though, isn't really something that appeals to me. I enjoy seeing new Zelda bosses to see how cool and clever they are, but once I've beaten them, there's just no challenge to them. Heck, there's rarely a challenge before I've beaten them. I can't remember the last time I died to a Zelda boss.

Heh, yeah Zelda's difficulty is a strange balance, the boss battles are engaging, and sometimes it takes a minute to realize your purpose, but it never feels... grueling.
I doubt you will have to unlock it though. That seems like a mute point. They released it as a standalone. Meh maybe tey will make it locked who knows...

Yeah I feel the same way about bosses. I never found it interesting replaying them. And unless I really have no idea how to attack/dodge bosses, then I don't die either. Although I quite enjoyed Bongo Bongo in the Shadow Temple, maybe I will replay that fight.

I agree. I never seem to die on Zelda bosses. You can run around and dodge until you figure out the way to beat it. Maybe the draw for the boss mode would be to show off to your friends as they watch you master beast after beast with pinpoint precision. It should be fun once or twice after going through the game.
One thing that would be cool is if they had a way to trade in coins for rupees.

Japanese Master Quest trailer:
Some new news about the Water Temple as well: reports are that it will also be easier to find your way around thanks to the flourescent pictures on the walls which make it simpler to see paths.
There's also a new feature called Visions which presents you with short gameplay videos which have been designed to give gamers who are stuck some idea of what they should be doing next.
You'll get these Visions when you crawl inside a Sheikah Stone whereupon you'll see '3-5 short clips that loosely demonstrate what to do next.' However, these are not Ocarina Of Time's own version of the Super Guide as it's not a walkthrough video.
If you think these new additions make things too easy, there's always the Master Quest. Visions aren't available in the Master Quest and as GoNintendo reports, enemies will do double damage this time.
Finally we have news on the new Boss Challenge mode. This enables you to replay any boss battle you've already played through in the main game. Once you've defeated a boss you can go to sleep in Link's bed in Kokiri Forest to play against it again.
This should provide even more replay value as the battles are timed, although there's no online leaderboard.
Also, after you've unlocked and beaten every boss again, you'll unlock a new Boss Rush mode. which is basically like a survival mode as you take on every boss, one after the other. You will get a chest after each fight containing the power-up you'll need to battle the next boss.

That is nice that they are taking Master Quest a step further this time. But I am disappointed that you have to beat the game first before getting to it. By the time I beat the game I won't want to start all over for another long adventure. I know it's the best game ever created, but I have other games to play.

Is this a bad time to say that the one thing I didn't like about Ocarina was the relatively small overworld and that there was so little use for Epona? That was one thing I liked about Twilight Princess: Much improved Epona stuff.

That's the understatement of the century. Don't you have a clause in your will to be buried with all of your unfinished games? You'll be like a pharaoh with his treasure.

A pharaoh ain't got nuthin on this gaming treasure trove!
In the other thread Antilles you said you didn't like too much exploring but now you say you didn't think Ocarina had enough? It was perfect! I wanted more horse too, but like you said they really beefed it up with Twilight Princess.
